Dr. Fulkerson graduated from Grayson County High School and then graduated from the University of Louisville with a B.A. in Biology and then she graduated from the University of Louisville, School of Medicine . Her residency in family medicine was at the Trover Clinic Foundation Residency Program in Madisonville, Kentucky .
She is board certified in Family Medicine. She sees her patients in the hospital at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. She has been in private practice at 310 South Main Street Leitchfield, KY since October 1, 1996.
She is a member of the Kentucky Medical Association and is Past President of the Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians. She served as President of the KAFP 2009-2010. She is also a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
In her free time she volunteers at the Grayson County Humane Society/Leitchfield Animal Shelter. She also serves as a volunteer medical missionary for Baptist Medical Dental Missions International in Nicaragua and she sponsors a family in Nicaragua . The people of Nicaragua are very poor. They do not have the benefits we take for granted in the United States such as Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment, or disability benefits.
Dr. Fulkerson also likes spending time reading, playing the piano, and playing with her cats and her Dad’s border collie and doing arts and crafts.
Lynette was born in Leitchfield, Kentucky. She attended Elizabethtown Community & Technical College, where she obtained an Associates Degree in Applied Science with specialization in Business Administration and Office Systems Technology.
She is credentialed as a Certified Medical receptionist, integrated office skills manager and Data Entry Operator. She wanted to obtain a staff support position that would incorporate her leadership, organizational and management skills.
Lynette joined the staff at Dr. Gay Fulkerson’s office in October, 2008. Since employment at the office she has completed CPR Certification, DOT and drug screen collection certification along with breathe alcohol certification. Lynette passed the Radiography State Boards exam.
Lynette is an outgoing, people-oriented, mother of five girls. In her free time she enjoys scrapbooking, bible studies and figure-eight racing.
Marilee Smith joined the U.S. Army in 1985. Four years later, Marilee went to Owensboro Community College to obtain her Child Development Associates. During her time at Western KY University and OCC Marilee found she enjoyed the medical field and numbers.
As Marilee’s life grew and changed, she put her interests together and went to Ivy Tech in Evansville, IN to obtain CDC’s in Medical Office, Advanced Coding and Medical Insurance. When her daughters went to college, Marilee moved back home to Leitchfield, KY.
Since 2004, Marilee has been employed with Dr. Gay Fulkerson. During her employment with Dr. Gay Fulkerson, Marilee has become certified in Clerical and Financial Basics. When not at her desk, you can find Marilee performing certified drug screens, breath alcohols or giving various injections. Marilee is also CPR certified. Her favorite thing about her job is the patients.
After hours Marilee enjoys spending time with her family. She enjoys the beach and being outdoors.
